Theme
Theme changes the appearance of the GRiMbOS desktop and windows.
Open it in either way:
- Click GRiMbar > System > Theme.
- Right-click an empty part of the desktop and click Change Theme.
Settings
| Setting | Result |

| Theme | Chooses a light or dark GRiMbOS color palette. |
| Font | Chooses the font used by GRiMbOS. The list includes sans serif, technical, and monospace fonts. |
| Size | Sets GRiMbOS text to Small 10px, Normal 12px, Medium 15px, Large 17px, or Extra large 20px. |
| Desktop image | Sets the size of the GRiMbOS image on the desktop, from 35 percent through 100 percent. |
| Desktop preview | Shows the draft palette, font, text size, and desktop image size before they are applied. |
| Apply Theme | Applies and stores the current draft. |
The default settings are Classic Teal, Open Sans, Normal 12px, and a 50 percent desktop image.
Apply a Theme
- Select a palette from Theme.
- Select a font from Font.
- Select a text size from Size.
- Select a scale from Desktop image.
- Check the Desktop preview.
- Click Apply Theme.
- Confirm that the desktop and open GRiMbOS windows use the new settings.
The preview identifies both the draft palette and the applied palette. It adds not applied while the draft differs from the current settings.
Apply Theme remains unavailable until a setting changes. Closing the window before applying discards the draft.
Storage and fallback behavior
Theme preferences are stored in the current browser. Another browser or browser profile can have different preferences.
If the stored data cannot be read, GRiMbOS uses all default Theme preferences.
If the stored Theme name is unknown, GRiMbOS also uses all default Theme preferences. If only the stored font, text size, or desktop image size is unsupported, GRiMbOS resets only that field and keeps the other supported fields.
Some downloadable fonts require the browser to retrieve a font file. The font definition includes a system fallback when that file is unavailable.
Failure handling
| Problem | Action |

| Preview changed but the desktop did not | Click Apply Theme. |
| Apply Theme is unavailable | Change at least one setting. |
| All settings returned to defaults | The stored data was unreadable or named an unknown Theme. Check whether browser site data was cleared or storage is blocked, then apply the settings again. |
| One setting returned to its default | Its stored value was unsupported. Select a supported value and click Apply Theme. |
| Selected font does not appear | Check browser network access, then try again. A fallback font may appear when the selected font cannot load. |
| Text is too large for a window | Choose a smaller Size, apply it, then resize the affected window if needed. |
Boundaries
Theme changes GRiMbOS only. It does not change overlay fonts, overlay colors, media, Twitch pages, or plugin-controlled output outside the GRiMbOS desktop.
Theme preferences are separate from GRiMbar layout, desktop shortcuts, and window geometry.
