Glossary

These are the names GRiMbOS uses. Other words in chat or on Twitch's website do not replace them.

Experience Points (XP). A numerical value earned through chat activity and games. It is used to determine Player Level. Do not call it EXP.

Player Level. A progression marker that increases when XP thresholds are reached. It unlocks Skill Points. Do not call it rank.

Skill Points. Points earned per Player Level that can be spent to improve Skills. Do not call them tokens.

Skill. A permanent player attribute that provides gameplay benefits when upgraded.

Skill Rank. A single level within a Skill.

Chat Message. A single message sent by a user in chat.

First Chat Message. The first Chat Message a viewer sends during the current Stream Session. Event Alerts can fire on this once per viewer per stream.

Lurk Status. A state where a user is present in chat but not actively chatting.

Lurk Points. Points earned for being present without chatting over time.

Follower Number. The channel's current follower total from Twitch, including this new follow.

Subscriber Number. The channel's current subscriber total from Twitch, including this new subscription.

Raid. An event where another streamer sends viewers into the channel. Raid Tracking records incoming Raids only.

Most Viewers. The highest concurrent viewer count recorded for a Stream Session while it was live.

Stream Viewers. Concurrent viewer counts sampled over the length of a live Stream Session.

Chat Game. A structured interactive game played through chat commands.

Reward. Any system output granted to a player. That includes XP, points, items, or other benefits.

Bot Timezone. The broadcaster's local IANA timezone used by GRiMbOS for local date or time.

Button Preset. A saved Button Box button definition. Updating it updates every cell that uses it.

Run Actions. Whether a button's actions run one after another in list order, or all at the same time.

Confirm Press. A Button Box setting that shows a yes/no prompt on the pad before the actions run.

Cooldown. A quiet period after an action or event before it may happen again. On a Button Box, this is seconds the button is ignored after a press. 0 means no wait.

Delay. An action that waits a set number of seconds before the next action in the list runs. It has an effect when Run Actions is In order. It is not Cooldown.

Custom Command. A broadcaster-defined chat trigger that runs an action chain when a Chat Message matches its rules.

Match Mode. Where the command text must appear. Start is first word. Exact is the whole line. Anywhere is the text anywhere, including inside a longer word.

Voice Recognition. A plugin that receives transcribed speech from the streaming PC and runs matching Voice Commands as the Broadcaster, without posting the spoken line to Twitch.

Voice Command. A spoken trigger that runs an action chain when transcribed text matches.

Play Song URL. An action that starts a Spotify track from a track link pasted in GRiMbOS.

Play Playlist. An action that starts a chosen Spotify playlist shuffled, beginning on a random track.

Pause Spotify. An action that pauses Spotify playback on the active device.

Unpause Spotify. An action that resumes Spotify playback on the active device from where it was paused.

Set Spotify Volume. An action that sets Spotify playback volume from 0 to 100.

AI Provider. A language-model service type used by an AI Account. The types are OpenAI, Ollama, OpenRouter, or Local OpenAI-compatible API.

AI Account. A named saved connection in AI Settings.

Local OpenAI-compatible API. An AI Provider type that talks to a local server using the OpenAI-compatible /v1 API. GRiMbOS does not ask for a model name. The setting is the API URL with scheme, IP, and port.

Default AI Provider. The AI Account currently marked Default in AI Settings.

Fallback AI Provider. The AI Account currently marked Fallback. Optional. It is not used automatically when Default fails.

Stream Memory. Facts and short narrative context about the current and recent streams that the AI may use when answering.

GRiMbOS. The Win9x-style admin desktop.

GRiMbar. The taskbar start menu.

PC Agent. The Windows helper program on the streaming PC.
