FAQ

Do I need a second Twitch account?

No. Broadcaster-only authorization works. Chat then posts as the broadcaster. A separate bot account keeps bot lines distinct in chat logs and lets you moderate with a moderator bot identity.

Can I run GRiMbot only in the cloud?

No. You run a package on a machine you control. See What you need.

Why does closing a window discard edits?

Most GRiMbOS windows save only when you click Save, SAVE, or Apply Theme. Closing a window does not show a confirmation dialog. Record values before you close.

Where is !sr?

It is in the Spotify plugin. It is not a Core Command. See Plugin Command Index.

Why are game TTS boxes unchecked?

Fresh game DLC ships with spoken lines off. Chat still posts. Tick the lines you want spoken after Streamer.bot TTS works.

Can viewers play Weed Harvest on my website?

No. Website play is Casino only. Weed Harvest, Joint Session, Bong Load, Extracts, and Munchies are chat.

Is Button Box password protected?

No. The LAN address is the only gate. Turn the box off when you are not using it. See Security.

Does StreamElements replace GRiMbot lurk tracking?

No. StreamElements import is a side panel. Twitch EventSub remains the source for follows and subscriptions.

Does OBS 27 work?

OBS Integration requires WebSocket 5.x, which is OBS 28 or newer. Overlay Browser Sources may still load on older OBS. Scene control will not.

Can I rename !ping?

No. Core Command names are fixed. Add new words with Custom Commands.

How many overlays can I create?

25 overlay surfaces. 15 objects per overlay. 8 embed iframes per overlay. See Limits and Compatibility.

What is Bot Timezone?

It is the broadcaster's local IANA timezone. Schedule, Calendar, and Discord Custom Announcement stream-start times use it. Set it in SETUP BOT. Almost 4:20 in Joint Session uses Pacific time, not Bot Timezone.

Name or Phrase on a Voice Command?

Name is the list label. Phrase is the spoken text that Match Mode tests. See Voice Recognition.

How does in-app Help relate to this wiki?

They describe the same product. The wiki is the full operating manual. Help is the window-specific Overview / How to Use / Settings Glossary while GRiMbOS is open. If they disagree, treat current GRiMbOS behavior as authoritative and report the documentation fault as described in How to use this manual.
