Bot Overlay
Open Overlays > Alerts & Clips > Bot Overlay to configure the bot portrait, speech bubble, voice, and reply sources.
Before enabling it, assign Bot Overlay in Overlays > Browser & Chat > Overlay Browser > Layout. Its default object size is 640 by 400 pixels, but the layout editor may resize it.
Reply sources
Overlay Enabled is the master switch. You may send any of these sources to the bubble:
- AI
@mentionsand!ask. - Favorite streamer greetings whose Show greeting in setting is Bot Overlay.
- Point Redemption AI Bot Response actions.
- Button Box AI Bot Response actions.
AI replies require AI Integration. Voice output requires the Streamer.bot plugin and its PC Agent. Show Message in Chat also posts the reply as a Chat Message. When it is clear, the stream and VOD may contain the bubble while Twitch chat does not.
Portrait and layout
Upload a .png, .jpg, .jpeg, or .webp portrait. Drag the portrait or bubble to move it. Drag a corner handle to resize it. Portrait resizing keeps the original shape.
Mirror horizontally moves the bubble tail to the right. Aim the tail toward the portrait. Click Clear to remove the portrait.
Text and motion settings

| Max chunks | Splits a long reply across 1 to 3 bubbles. |
| Chars / sec | Sets the estimated reading time. |
| Gap | Delay between chunks. |
| Tail hold | Extra time after the final chunk. |
| Min hold | Minimum time each chunk remains visible. |
Preview motion uses the current unsaved settings in GRiMbOS. It does not send the reply to OBS or the voice system.
Save, test, and verify
- Place the Bot Overlay object on the required layout.
- Check Overlay Enabled and the required reply sources.
- Arrange the portrait and bubble.
- Click Save.
- Keep the OBS scene visible.
- Enter preview text and click Test Overlay.
- Confirm the bubble in OBS and listen through the OBS Audio Mixer.
Testing boundary: Test Overlay sends the saved overlay test through the display and voice path. It does not prove that AI Integration, Favorite Streamer greetings, Point Redemptions, or Button Box triggers are configured.
If the test fails, save first, confirm the Bot Overlay object and Browser Source are active, and check System > Connection Status. For missing voice, check Streamer.bot and its PC Agent. For missing Twitch chat output, check Show Message in Chat and the chat connection.
