Lurkers, Streaks, Favorite Streamers
These windows are under Community → Audience.
Lurkers
Lurkers records viewers Twitch reports in chat who are not actively talking. They earn Lurk Points while their Lurk Status is active.
GRiMbot polls Twitch every 90 seconds during a live Stream Session. The broadcaster token needs moderator:read:chatters. Re-authorize the broadcaster in System → System Status if the Lurkers status reports that scope as missing.
Twitch only reports accounts present in chat. A viewer with chat closed cannot be counted. Network failures and Twitch API failures skip that poll. A healthy status means the latest successful poll is less than three minutes old and no current error is recorded.
The window shows:
- Active Lurk Status during the current Stream Session.
- Lurk Points awarded during the current Stream Session.
- Up to 25 recent Stream Sessions.
- Up to 25 lifetime Lurk Points leaders.
- A timeline in buckets from 1 to 60 minutes. The default bucket is 10 minutes.
Older records without interval data use an approximate timeline based on first and last sightings.
!lurk, !lurkers, !lurkstatus, and !lurkleaders are Core Commands. Their reply text is fixed.
Lurker presence, intervals, and totals remain in the database. The source defines no automatic expiry.
Streaks
Streaks lists watch streak events, subscription streak shares, viewer bests, and action rules. Watch and subscription event lists return up to 200 records. The window normally requests the most recent 50.
Add an action rule
- Click Add rule.
- Choose watch streak or subscription streak.
- Set a minimum streak of 1 or more.
- Set an optional maximum streak.
- Choose a Media Library clip, Custom Command action, or chat message.
- Set Enabled and save the rules.
- Verify the rule with the next matching Twitch event.
Enabled rules are checked by their saved order, then by higher minimum streak when saved order is the same. GRiMbot runs only the first matching rule. A minimum and maximum define the matching range. Put the rule that should win first when ranges overlap.
Watch streak notices depend on Twitch chat EventSub access, including user:read:chat. Subscription streak values come from Twitch resub events. Twitch can omit streak months even when cumulative months are present, so some rows can show no streak value.
Saving action rules replaces the complete saved rule list. Historical streak events and viewer bests remain in the database.
Favorite Streamers
Favorite Streamers checks a favorite's first non-command Chat Message in each Stream Session. Command Chat Messages do not start the greeting check. Each favorite can receive one greeting per Stream Session.
Add and configure a favorite
- Click Add and search for a Twitch login.
- Set Greeting.
- Choose Twitch chat or Bot Overlay in Show greeting in.
- Enter a greeting template, or leave it blank for AI.
- Set TTS.
- Add optional profile notes and showcase clips.
- Use the greeting and clip test controls.
New favorites default to Greeting on, Bot Overlay, and TTS on. The window has no AI Provider control.
| Setting | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Greeting | Enables the greeting check for the first non-command Chat Message. It does not disable showcase clips used by Shoutouts. |
| Show greeting in | Sends the greeting to Twitch chat or Bot Overlay. Bot Overlay does not also post it in chat. |
| Greeting template | Uses {display_name}, {login}, {DISPLAY_NAME}, and {LOGIN}. Maximum 512 characters. |
| Profile notes | Supplies saved context to supported AI replies for that favorite. |
| TTS | Requests speech for the greeting. Streamer.bot TTS must be working. |
| Showcase clips | Gives Shoutouts a curated clip pool for this streamer. A random showcase clip takes priority over a general Twitch clip. |
When the greeting template is blank, GRiMbot asks AI Integration for a greeting. If AI is unavailable or fails, it uses Welcome back {display_name}!.
Adding a favorite first checks known chatter records. If the person is not there, GRiMbot looks them up through Twitch when a broadcaster token is available. Duplicate favorites are rejected.
Deleting a favorite removes that favorite and its saved clip links. Per-Stream-Session greeting records and other related rows follow the database relationships. The source defines no user-facing retention period.
